The WMBC has been awarded a $5k grant from REI as part of their initiative to help make the outdoors more accessible to everyone. Special thanks to Blake Treadway for submitting the grant and helping to make this happen. The goal for the grant money is to build a beginner skills mountain bike zone as well as beginner mountain bike trails designed to be fun and accessible to all skill levels and ages of riders. The WMBC wants to create a zone where people new to the sport or parents with kids could go and feel safe while learning how to ride. It is great to see REI get excited about our vision for making mountain biking more accessable with such a generous grant. Below is a picture of the Whistler skills mountain bike zone that we hope to have a similar features as well as a trail network that links into the skill zone.
